Safe in Costa Rica

This is just a quick note to say that we are in Bahia Del Coco in the Gulf of Papagayo in Costa Rica. It has been an interesting experience getting here because of the high winds that come up frequently at this time of year. We have had to seek shelter in Nicaragua and off the Bat Islands in Costa Rica, where we had gusts of 50 knots. Bahia del Sol is the place where we have to check into the country and get our passports stamped and where we can get groceries and use and Internet Cafe. There is a big cold front on the way, which will bring big winds from the north and this bay is open to the north. Tomorrow we will head into the Bay of Culebra where there is sheltered anchorage, but no facilities.

More details later.

We wish you all a Great New Year and hope Y2K was kind to you. We had no problems on the boat and haven't heard of any one else who had problems, but we are not exactly in touch with the latest news.
